on fridays we train arms
At Ben's Bodies, we have come to learn that working out is not only good for the body but also the mind. It is a great way of keeping the inner demons at bay.
By happenstance, we've also learned that working out with a bro on a Friday and getting a sweet arm pump on together provides an opportunity to bond and talk about the week you've both had.
In support of men's mental health, every month we upload a completely free arm workout for you to download and use in the gym.
We're not saying that bigger biceps are the cure to men's mental health issues, but we're also not not saying that either.
"Grab a bro and make those pythons grow!"
The Story Of Archie
Shortly after moving to Australia, Ben met his first close friend and soon to be gym bro, Archie. Friday sessions were always arm-focused, but during these sessions, they'd vent and debrief about the week they'd both had, talk about their goals, and open up to each other. Training arms on a Friday soon became cathartic and something they both looked forward to weekly.
As a byproduct, they both found these sessions to be a great equalizer for their mental health. Whilst talking between sets (and gaining a sweet arm pump), they came to realise how grateful they both were for the opportunity to build new lives overseas. And that they had a lot to be thankful for.
Sadly, over time, their sessions together became few and far between. Ben wished he'd known this was a sign to watch out for (link). Archie was struggling with his inner demons, and upon Ben's return from a holiday, he came to discover Archie had passed away.
Far be it from us to presume to know how to help men's mental health, but if these Friday sessions offered catharsis for Ben and Archie, we hope it can work for other men out there too, to prevent the same outcome as Archie.
This is why at Ben's Bodies, 'On Fridays, We Train Arms'. And why our arm workouts are always free to download from the website. Arm workouts are added monthly, and in each PDF there will be meaningful questions you can ask your gym bro to break the cycle and learn to open up.
Whilst the workouts are free to download, donations to Movember are always encouraged and appreciated. Movember is the leading charity changing the face of men's health.

Rest in Peace, Archie

Men Will Die On Average 4 Years Earlier Than Women
A growing number of men – around 10.8M globally – are facing life with a prostate cancer diagnosis. Globally, testicular cancer is the most common cancer among young men. Across the world, one man dies by suicide every minute of every day, with males accounting for 69% of all suicides.
Movember is a worthy cause doing right by us men. Whilst you're under no obligation to do this, and the monthly arm plans we design are completely free for you to download, if you know anyone who has been affected by cancer or suicide, we please urge you to donate to Movember's cause.
We've created a community donation page on the Movember website. By clicking the button below you'll be taken to the page where you can donate. Whatever you can afford to give, you'll be helping countless men around the world get through a tough time.
